About the Jersey Shore Dream Center
Our vision is to restore value, hope, and purpose to the people we serve, transitioning them to a life of independence. JSDC is how Shore Christian Church does outreach! The Jersey Shore Dream Center is a separately funded 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to bringing HOPE to the underprivileged local community.
Founded by Pastor Isaac and Anthony Megaro, we focus on three major areas - hunger relief, community outreach, and restoration. We are proudly celebrating over 11 years of service to the Jersey Shore and beyond. SCC has made a commitment to partner with the Dream Center on all events and serve our local community through this organization.
Here are some things you might not know about what Jersey Shore Dream Center does every day to help people in need:
Our Mobile Food Pantry delivers groceries to over 23,000 people annually who do not have access to a local food bank. That’s approximately 13 tons of food each month for people who otherwise face food insecurity! We also distribute first aid and hygiene products. The need for food is up 163% since 2020 and is still growing.
We have two new programs, a Freedom Ministry (a formal partnership with Shore Christian Church), which focuses on assistance to families of those incarcerated and recently released prisoners. This program meets physical and spiritual needs in a one-on-one capacity. We have also brought back Adopt-A-Block, which focuses on providing needs and building relationships on a specific block to create long-term positive change in that community.
Did you know that diapers are not provided by any of the government subsidy programs, such as SNAP and WIC? Many parents wanting to return to work can’t do so without the disposable diapers required by daycares. Our Baby Pantry fills that need and distributed over 200,000 diapers last year, a 300% increase in the past two years. We are still growing at an exponential rate.
Our programming and community events bring HOPE to over 50,000 people each year. We strive to continue blessing more and more people, spreading the love of Jesus throughout the Jersey Shore and beyond.
