Vision
THE VISION
SHORE CHRISTIAN CENTER CHURCH
Pastor Dewey Friedel
In 1975, God gave me a vision. It gripped me then and still motivates me. In essence, the purpose of Shore Christian Center Church is to become a model of Christian life. Our teaching stresses the importance of the individual becoming whole through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Through faith, repentance and baptism, the individual is joined by the Holy Spirit to the church family or local body of Christ. With personal growth in faith, the new Christian will be able to develop and grow in attainment of God's plan for their life. Thus, faith is a significant emphasis, for without faith we cannot please God, but with faith, all things are possible.
The Christian growing in faith is being prepared to grow in covenantal loyalty. Our God is the God who keeps His Word, and since we are made in His image, we are to function in loyalty and integrity with each other. This produces a family bonding that no demon can separate, and in turn the church becomes a model of proper relationships that is distinct from the world's system.
Having strong faith and a genuine heart of love and service, the church becomes God's vehicle to make disciples of all nations. This is extending the reign of our Lord Jesus to every sphere of life: education, recreation, business, the arts, medicine and politics. We become the joint ruling heirs of the Lord Jesus as we take dominion of the Lord's earth. In order to effect change in our geographical location, I challenge you to have a Kingdom perspective. Now, let's reduce this grand scope to the possibilities of ministry for a local church.
We visualize Shore Christian Center Church with a multipurpose complex including the following ministries:
- A K-12th grade school offering quality education and training in the truths of the Word of God. Presently, Shore Christian Academy is operating with K-8th grade.
- A school of the Bible to learn the whole counsel of God as presented in His Holy Word.
- A counseling center where those who are broken emotionally, or slaves to addictive mind patterns, can find healing. Presently, we have our resident counselor: Minister Donna Ridge, providing anointed counseling and care.
- Unwed mothers' homes and home placement services. Continue to pray as we seek the facilities needed.
- Homes for victimized boys and girls without family, or care.
- A recreational center providing facilities and equipment to keep the body at peak performance. We currently enjoy our state of the art gymnasium and baseball field with sports programs and camps of excellence offered year round.
- A cafeteria and Christian entertainment center with a
focus to strengthen families and provide extended relationships
for singles. Currently the Chateau is open after Sunday
service on the 1st Sunday of each month and on special occasions;
and is available for youth, singles, and other ministry
functions.
- A business center for emerging job opportunities created through our church.
- A media studio for television ministry and recording opportunities.
- A vast expansion of our present God's Pantry to help feed and clothe the increasing, poverty-stricken class.
- Development of a mission center to coordinate overseas activity and establish orphanages, hospitals, vocational, and spiritual training centers in third world countries.
This is all possible if we will dream God's dream and seek
first His Kingdom. It remains to be seen how much God can
use totally committed individuals and churches for the advancement
of His Kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven. Having Christ's
character, empowerment from the Holy Spirit, and restored
finances, will produce an explosion of Godly influence. When
I was granted the opportunity to see God's heart and will
in 1975, it was evident that a day would come when these multipurpose
centers would emerge all over our great country. God's heart
is for every state, county, city, and town to have centers
of supernatural and service ministries of "helps" springing
from local churches that espouse His ways and model them.
This would result in a dynamic audio-visual witness of Christ
working through His people to a desperate world system groping
in darkness.
