Some Ministry Teams & Outreaches
Children's Ministry Team:
The Children's Department at SCC is designed to minister to
children between the ages of 6 months to 10 years. Loving and
quality ministry to all the children is our goal! Nursery and
Children's Church are available at all scheduled services and
events. Here is a quick overview of each ministry team:
- Christians in Action: This unique group is
designed for children ages 4 to 12 and their parents. While
the children are learning how to deal with their life issues,
their parents meet together to acquire the skills needed
to help their kids. In this way the parents can extend what
they learn to the home environment. (This outreach breaks
for summer vacation.)
- Infant Nursery: Children from six months
to three years are loved and cared for in our nursery during
each service and special event. Workers in the nursery spend
most of their time caring for and playing with all of our
beautiful babies.
- Children's Church: Children between the
ages of 3 and 10 have a fully developed curriculum that
thematically teaches the Word of God. The classes are broken
up by age and grade with a head teacher and assistant. There
is plenty of room for creativity and lots of hands-on interaction.
Youth Ministry Team:
- Eternity Youth Outreach is divided into
sub-groups based on the age of the youth: Jr. High
Youth - Ages 11-15, and Sr. High Youth
- 16-19. This outreach focuses on the needs of kids between
ages 11-19. The focal point in each of the various groups
is to make Jesus real, on a level to which
each youth can relate. Goals are reached through a number
of activities and functions.
Counseling:
- The church offers counseling for dealing with various
issues. Staff Ministers and Elders work together to bring
people to a place of wholeness in their lives. Intense cases
are referred to other Christian counseling centers and rehabs.
Minister Donna Ridge is the overseeer in charge of
Counseling.

Minister Donna's credentials include:
- Member of SCC since 1980.
- Taught Bible at SCA for 7 years.
- Children's Ministry for 22 years.
- Currently the Chapel Leader for the lower grades at
Shore Christian Academy.
- 1991 Graduate of Rhema Bible Training Center –
Licensed Clergy through RMAI.
- 1993 Graduate of Elijah House Prayer Counseling.
- 1993 Ordained as Counseling Minister – Pastor
Dewey Friedel.
- 1999 Graduate of Sarasota Academy – Christian
Counseling.
- 2001 Bachelor of Arts in Christian Counseling, Calvary
Theological Seminary.
- Certified Temperament Counselor – National Christian
Counseling Association.
- 2002 Licensed Pastoral Counselor - NCCA.
- 2005 Board Certified in Crisis and Abuse – NCCA.
- Currently finishing Masters Degree in Counseling.
God's Pantry:
- God's pantry continues to grow year by year. More and
more needy people continue to come across our path. This
team ministers to both the body of SCC and the community
at large. After services, and sometimes through delivery
service, many boxes and bags of food and personal items
are freely given to people who are in real need of help.
Women's Outreach - Women of Purpose:
- This outreach is designed to help women reach their full
potential in mind, spirit, and body, through Jesus Christ.
Meetings are held with exciting speakers, fellowship
and refreshments. Special events are planned throughout
the year.
Get Healthy Support Group:
- Learn how you can prevent illness, lose weight, make great-tasting living foods, and enjoy the great health God intended for you. Based on the "Hallelujah Diet," the group meets the last Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at Shore Christian Center. Get a "taste" of this healthy lifestyle at our next Get Healthy, Stay Balanced class.
